  1. Celebrating Taylor Farms’ Female Leaders

International Women’s Day may have passed, but across every part of Taylor Farms, women are making a strong impact to push our organization to new heights. We empower women in our company, by giving them equal opportunities to learn new capabilities, to grow within our company and secure leadership roles. We believe that our industry’s entire supply chain benefits when we develop and leverage the talents and passion of our female colleagues.

Stay tuned on our social channels this week as we launch a three part video series celebrating three talented women at Taylor Farms whose perseverance and vision drive their professional success.

  2. Giving Back to our Communities this Holiday Season

The holidays are here and our Taylor Farms team has been busy spreading the joy, through the gift of giving back. Community involvement has been part of Taylor Farms since day one, and a true passion and driver for our company. This year, Team Taylor is giving back to the Boys and Girls Club, The Salvation Army, Community Human Services, and Brighter Christmas of Tracy.

Our Taylor Farms Salinas Team is giving to the Boys and Girls Club of Monterey County, The Salvation Army- Operation Give Back Toy Drive, and Community Human Services’ Basic Needs Drive for Homeless Youth.

The team showed their support for the Community Human Services’ drive for homeless youth, through a donation of clothing and food items.  While, our team in Tennessee donated funds to the Breakfast with Santa event sponsored by the nearby Almaville Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department with breakfast, and our Customer Service group raised 200 cans of food to go to a local area food bank!

Our Texas Team continues their annual tradition of participating in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. Taylor Farms Texas sponsored a total of 60 angels for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.

Taylor Farms Pacific, in Tracy, adopted 5 children and 2 single women from the Boys and Girls Club of Tracy, and filled up 3 bins of canned goods and toys for Brighter Christmas who provides meals and gifts for low income families.

We are so grateful to our Taylor Farms family and employees, and their generosity to give to so many organizations this holiday season. We wish you and your family a happy holidays!

  3. Smart Farm Equipment Helps Feed the World

The changing global climate in agriculture has fueled advancements in our fields. With the human population at a steady increase, the demand for more efficient harvesting of crops — faster with less waste — goes up as well. The introduction of automated harvesters in our fields has increased productivity and efficiency of our harvest, while providing a safer and more ergonomically beneficial environment for our employees.

Because of innovations like automated harvesters, Taylor Farms was recently included in an Intel IQ article, Smart Farm Equipment Helps Feed the World, that included a 360 degree video of the automated romaine harvester in action.

The automated harvester uses computer optics to “see” the romaine and the water jet knife technology that cuts it. A conveyor belt moves the lettuce heads up to the platform for real time packing in the field. From there, the freshly harvested product is sent immediately to market.

Read the full Intel IQ feature here to learn more about the efficiency of automated harvesting machinery. To see how Taylor Farms is utilizing technology and automation in other areas of the business, check out this article from WIRED.

  4. Summertime Chopped Salad Changes

This summer we’re making a few changes to our customer-favorite line of Chopped Salad Kits – but don’t worry, we think you’ll love them.

The Farmhouse Bacon Kit has been revamped and is now the Sunflower Crunch Chopped Salad Kit. Not to worry, it still includes the irresistible smoky bacon and the crunchy roasted sunflower seeds! This salad redefines healthy comfort food and will be a family-favorite, packed with greens like romaine, cabbage, and kale, and tossed with a sweet onion dressing. Our mouths are watering.

Our Garden Vegetable Kit has been updated and is now Broccoli Crunch! This delicious kit also contains bacon and sunflower kernels, but, unlike the Sunflower Crunch variety, it features — surprise! — broccoli, plus cauliflower, dried cranberries, and other fresh ingredients. We can’t wait to drizzle the sweet coleslaw dressing on top and dig in.

The newest addition to our family of Chopped Salad Kits is a classic Caesar! Our version will have all the familiar Caesar salad ingredients you love, including chopped romaine and grated parmesan, but our recipe will also include a https://www.taylorfarms.com/products/chopped-salad-kits/caesar-chopped-kit/#product-viewdelicious cheese and garlic crouton crumble and our special Caesar dressing.
