  1. Four Easy Salad Kit Hacks with Nashville Wifestyles

Hi! It’s Ashley from Nashville Wifestyles, and I’m going to be showing you how to make super quick, easy and delicious meals for the entire family with a little help from Taylor Farms Chopped Salad Kits!

    Ashley from Nashville Wifestyles

We love Taylor Farms in our household, and use their kits as part of our meals every single day. For those of you who may not know, Taylor Farms Chopped Salad Kits are a complete meal in one bag – containing, not only fresh greens, but also different components of a great salad such as cheese, croutons, and dressing. Take all the ingredients, toss them in a bowl and your salad is ready to be served! It can be used as a main course for lunch or a perfect side salad during dinner. Our personal favorite kits are the Buffalo Ranch Chopped Kit and the Caesar Chopped Kit. All in all, it’s super simple, easy, and full of flavor.

Marinade chicken for at least 30 minutes. Grill until cooked through and then add to your prepared Buffalo Ranch Salad. I also love to pair grilled chicken with the Roasted Garlic Chopped kit and BBQ Ranch Chopped Kit. SO easy, so tasty!

Easy Meal Hack #2: Perfect BBQ Side
Throwing some burgers and hot dogs on the grill this summer? Add some extra veggies by serving your grilled meats with a side salad, or even grilled corn!
I’ve been loving Taylor Farm’s new Steakhouse Wedge Chopped Kit. It’s the perfect addition to your cookout and requires no chopping. You simply open the bag and toss it together.
More time spent with friends and family, less time prepping food.

Easy Meal Hack #3 – Taco Tuesday with Taylor Farms
Taylor Farms also comes to the rescue for our Taco Tuesday nights. All you have to do is sauté beef or chicken and either do a Taco Salad or Tacos with their Avocado Ranch Chopped Kit or their new Salsa Ranch Chopped Kit. I just added some fresh salsa and tortillas because the kits have all you need with dressing, cheese, corn and lettuce blend. No chopping necessary, it’s the easiest taco night I’ve done and one of my hacks for how to throw a fiesta in under and hour and under $200.

Easy Meal Hack #4: Citrus Shrimp Salad
I am always looking for light & refreshing recipes to make for dinner. When Taylor Farms launched their new Tangerine Crunch Chopped Kit earlier this summer, I was instantly inspired to whip up a fun summer salad. Grab the recipe for this tasty Citrus Shrimp Salad.

IngredientsEasy Meal Hack #4: Citrus Shrimp Salad

    • 1 lb raw shrimp
    • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
    • 1/4 cup lemon juice
    • 3 tsp minced or pressed garlic
    • 1 tbsp chopped onion (I used red) or shallot
    • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
    • 1 tbsp garlic salt
    • Pinch of red pepper flakes for flavor
    • Salt and Pepper to taste
    • 1 medium orange cut into wedges/slices
    • 1 medium lemon cut into wedges/slices
    • 1 Taylor Farms Tangerine Crunch Chopped Kit

    Instructions

    1. Whisk olive oil, orange and lemon juice, garlic, onion, 1/2 of parsley, and red pepper flakes in a bowl. Pour into large skillet on medium heat and let simmer. Add shrimp and season with salt, pepper and garlic salt. Cook until shrimp turns pink or just sauce for 5 minutes if using cooked shrimp to absorb flavor. Add the lemon and orange slices to the mixture. Top with remaining parsley.
    2. Mix Taylor Farms Tangerine Crunch Chopped Kit together in salad bowl.
    3. Serve both together on plate.

  3. Farmers Market Raised Over $2,400 for American Cancer Society

Taylor Farms hosted a Farmers Market at our headquarters in Salinas, CA on Friday, March 14 – just before Easter – so employees, their families, and the community could stock up on fresh produce for their Easter meals. For a $20 donation, attendees of the pop-up Market received a purple Taylor Farms-branded tote bag and they were able to fill it with donated Taylor Farms product.

We’re proud to report that over 100 people attended this event and together we raised a total of $2,400! Proceeds will go to supporting Relay For Life – American Cancer Society.

“I am always happy to help support the ACS and Relay For Life as cancer has directly impacted my life,” says Shirley Kiley, one of our original Taylor Farms employees. “I lost my father when I was 11 years old, so I am proud that I work for a company that is so generous in its efforts to arrange and organize these fundraisers. Not to mention I receive the benefits of fresh healthy veggies! The Chopped Salads are always a hit at my house and we use Taylor Farms spinach every morning for a healthy smoothie to start the day!”

“It felt really good to donate and help others and the Relay for Life because I remember walking at the Relay for Life the last few years with my little brother in his stroller and my friends,” says Liam Roberts, 10 years old, seen here with dad Josh Roberts who works at Taylor Farms. “The Farmers Market was cool because we got veggies to take home and have for Easter Sunday. My favorite salads are the Caesar salad and the Asian Chopped Salad and my favorite lettuce is the plain romaine. I also like the snack packs.”

  5. The Evolving Fresh Produce Industry Invests in Young Talent

The Center for Growing Talent by PMA (CGT by PMA) hosted their first Immersion Academy, “Rooted to Succeed,” this week in Dallas, Texas. Over 100 university seniors studying a variety of majors, from marketing to engineering to food safety, attended the two-day event and conference. The Immersion Academy is CGTbyPMA’s latest initiative supporting its mission to attract, retain, and develop young talent in the industry.

The program’s agenda connected students with an educational experience led by industry leaders who can inspire, mentor, and prepare them to start industry careers after graduation.

Our CEO Bruce Taylor kicked off the event with a presentation called, “Changing the World”, where he explained the impact, importance, and complexity of career opportunities in the produce and floral industry.

“Bruce educated the students on the produce and floral industry, but he also tapped into their desire to make a difference in the world by challenging them with questions like, What could be more impactful and rewarding than feeding the world with healthy foods?” said Leonard Batti, VP of Business Development, Taylor Farms and Chairman, CGTbyPMA. “Several students mentioned that having the opportunity to hear from industry leaders first hand, working in segments of the business specific to their major, has made the produce and floral industry their career choice upon graduation.”

The Immersion Academy helps draw parallels between a student’s college majors and the careers available in agriculture, highlight the industry’s need for new skills from new leaders, and showcase the exciting opportunities available for a diverse range of majors. Taylor Farms is happy to have been a part of it!
