  1. Tasty Picnic Salads to Help You Save Time & Stay Healthy this 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! This holiday commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, which proclaimed that the 13 American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America!

Independence Day — July 4th — is marked in the U.S. by patriotic displays, and is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, fairs, and our favorites — barbecues and picnics! To help you celebrate this holiday (and National Picnic Month), we’ve developed a few great salad recipes using Taylor Farms salad kits that 1.) will be a perfect pairing with your backyard barbeque or picnic in the park and 2.) take only minutes to put together, so you can save time to make time enjoying your company.

  3. Eat Together Day 2019

This past Friday, we celebrated #EatTogether Day alongside our Canadian retail partner, Loblaws and President’s Choice. The movement started in 2017, encouraging people to connect by eating together, and turning a house into a home, a stranger into a friend, and a village into a community.

    Eat Together Day 2019

Taylor Farms celebrated by recognizing our employees and all the hard work that they do with a breakfast snack, coffee and good conversations. We also encouraged people to take the #EatTogether pledge and open up a conversation about why it’s important. Over 450,000 people across Canada took the pledge to eat together more this year, and President’s Choice donated $1 for the first 250,000 pledges to the PC Children’s Charity which provides meals to kids who otherwise might not be able to afford it.

You too can join the PC® #EatTogether movement by taking the pledge. By clicking the button you are pledging to #EatTogether in 2019 with friends and family. I teamed up with Taylor Farms and their new Roasted Garlic Chopped Kit to make you guys these adoooorable tequila shrimp salad cups paired with a tequila shot for the cutest party appetizer! Of all the new chopped salad kits this one makes an appearance quite a bit at our house. We’re huge garlic lovers and this salad packs some extreme garlic flavor. It’s a great jumping off point for any fun salad recipe. Today we’re turning this salad into an extremely fun party appetizer!

You can really start with any cup but I just used some leftover plastic wine glasses from another party. Layer up some black beans, Taylor Farms Roasted Garlic Chopped Kit and top each cup off with 2-3 pieces of shrimp. You can toss these in the fridge until your guests arrive or serve them up fresh. For the ultimate party appetizer set them up on a platter with a shot of your favorite tequila to really get the party started. I once had a party where everyone got a shot of tequila on their table setting and it made for the BEST ice breaker. Highly recommend, you’ll thank me later.
