Taylor Farms and Sandwich America served as presenting sponsors of the World Food Championships Sandwich Competition, a high stakes food competition hosted in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, we proudly provided a field of world-class competitors with fresh produce to multiple competitions during the event. The structured build of the World Sandwich Championship was a twist on the classic BLT, inspired by one of OUR most popular crops, Kale. (#KaleYa)
Competitors all created their version of a Bacon, KALE, and Tomato Sandwich at this year’s sandwich competition. Kelli Fairchild-Cochran took home the top honors and a hefty $10,000 for her winning creation of the “Mexican Street Sandwich”. Kelli qualified for the World Food Championships in a sandwich contest co-sponsored by Taylor Farms and Sandwich America and we were proud to have her represent us in this years contest.
During the course of the week Taylor Farms also participated with on stage demonstrations, sponsored fresh ingredients for the chili competition, and provided single serve salads, snack, and wraps in the HUMM HUB for judges, competitors, bloggers, and VIPs.
Sandwich America officially launched on Nov. 3 and will include programs like, “The Great American Sandwich Trail”, “Sandwich Night” and monthly “Sandwich Slams”. For more information, visit: www.sandwichamerica.com and stay tuned for more exciting events from Taylor Farms & Sandwich America.
