As part of the booming $11 billion organic fresh produce industry, Taylor Farms is proud to be a co-founding sponsor of the first Organic Produce Summit in Monterey this week, July 13-14. The sold-out event showcases the growing marketplace with a series of educational sessions, featured speakers, networking opportunities and exhibits from more than 70 leading organic fresh fruit and vegetable producers.
The Summit also offers the perfect platform for Taylor Farms to debut its brand new Organic Chopped Salad Kits, an extension of their fastest-selling line of Chopped Salads that was introduced 4 years ago.
The Summit provides leaders and innovators of organic fresh produce the space to collaborate on opportunities and challenges in today’s fastest-growing food segment. Summit organizers took a “big-tent” approach to the event, involving everyone associated with the organic fresh produce industry, by providing a forum to discuss how the industry can continue to grow in the years to come.
“Bruce Taylor was the first person we talked to about the Organic Produce Summit,” said Matt Seeley, founder of the summit. “We wanted to talk to a true visionary in the produce industry who would understand what we were trying to accomplish and its viability to the produce industry.“Bruce clearly understood the need for such an event—a gathering of the various aspects of the organic produce industry in the Salad Bowl of the World to share ideas and information while gathering insight into the organic produce industry. We are forever grateful for his vision and commitment to making this inaugural event a foundation for future Organic Produce Summits in the years to come,” said Seeley.
Attendees have the opportunity to participate in a wide selection of exciting educational breakout sessions hosted by the Organic Trade Association. Jerrett Stoffel, Vice President of Operations at Taylor Farms, will be participating on a panel discussing the future of organic produce and how production outside the US will continue to grow to meet supply chain needs.
“Organic produce continues to be a major growth vehicle in the movement towards a healthier lifestyle,” said Jerrett Stoffel, Vice President of Operations, Taylor Farms Retail. “The Organic Produce Summit will be an ideal environment for growers, processors, shippers and retailers to collaborate on how to best meet this incredible demand”.
